Hiawatha Neighbourhood Survey Results

Thank you to all of those that filled out and returned the survey.

The City received 147completed surveys. The surveys were representative of 106 households (some household’s submitted 2 surveys).

Please find attached the survey results. In addition find a summary of some of the comments that were submitted with the surveys.

Proposed changes to the current Zoning By-law for the Hiawatha Neighbourhood.

 

Dear Resident:

 

The Hiawatha neighbourhood residents have expressed an interest in exploring opportunities to better preserve their neighbourhood character. A community meeting has been scheduled for November 22, 2012, 7:00p.m., at the Cawthra Seniors Centre, Olga Tyne Room, 1389 Cawthra Road, Mississauga. 

 

As background, a community meeting was held on April 3rd of this year. Since that time a steering committee was established. This steering committee has met on 3 occasions to discuss concerns and opportunities on how to preserve the neighbourhood character.

 

The purpose of this meeting is to bring these suggestions to the larger community for feedback and to determine next steps.

RE:  Community Meeting - 90 Cumberland Drive

Dear Resident:
We have arranged a Community Meeting for Tuesday, April 3, 2012, at 7:00 p.m. at the Cawthra Seniors Centre,1389 Cawthra Road, Mississauga. The purpose of this meeting is to discuss preserving the traditional neighbourhood character and in connection with the dwelling at 90 Cumberland Drive.

This property was not subject to any minor variance applications, as it complied fully with the current Zoning By-law regulations for this area. It also was not subject to Site Plan Approval as the City's Site Plan Control By-law does include new detached dwellings, replacement housing and building additions in the Port Credit area. Only a building permit was required.
